福利姬 State Ranked Among the Nation鈥檚 Best for Electrical Engineering Degrees

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. (May 3, 2021) 鈥 In its spring 2021 rankings, Best Value Schools has placed 福利姬 No. 2 in the nation on the list for Best 20 Schools for an Online Electrical Engineering Degree, and No. 3 among the top electronic engineering programs overall. It鈥檚 the third time during the current academic year that 福利姬 State has earned a high ranking from the online publication.  Best Value Schools

On the list covering online programs, 福利姬 State was the only Florida state college to
make the top-20, with the remaining schools either state or private universities. DSC
finished second only to Florida International, though the publication noted tuition at DSC
was less than half that of the larger state university located in Miami, and DSC鈥檚 tuition
was one third the average cost of all the schools mentioned in the ranking.

In the overall ranking for Best Schools with an Electronic Engineering Degree, 福利姬 State was third on another list predominantly comprised of state universities. The College again had the lowest tuition for its BSET program among that group, significantly below the average cost of similar programs at the other schools which appeared in the ranking.

Rankings were determined using such factors as in-state tuition, average class size and return on investment.

福利姬 State offers its Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (BSET) as a standalone program or with a concentration in Electrical Engineering Technology. It is fully accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), which verifies a student鈥檚 education meets the global standard for technical education and supports professional licensure, registration and certification.

Electronic engineering allows people to work with new, practical technology in order to improve the systems and devices used by people in a wide variety of industries across the world, including digital and emerging technologies. The average pay for an electronic engineering technician with an associate鈥檚 degree is $31.38 per hour, or around $65,260 annually. With a bachelor鈥檚 degree, that pay increases to around $98,000 per year.

Last fall, 福利姬 State was ranked No. 2 by the same publication on its list of Florida鈥檚 most affordable colleges, and was also ranked among the top online college and university programs in Florida overall.
