腦瞳憫 State foreign-language chair receives honor
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 27, 2013) - Ray Cornelius, chair of the School of World
Languages and Speech at 腦瞳憫, has been named the 2013 College and
University Instructor of the Year by Florida Foreign Language Instructors in Colleges
and Universities (FFLICU), a member of the Florida Foreign Language Association (FFLA).
Cornelius received the award at FFLAs annual business meeting Nov. 22, held in conjunction
with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages Convention in Orlando.
In presenting the award, FFLICU President Fernando Mayoral cited Cornelius focus
on student-centered teaching and his innovative work in online instruction.
腦瞳憫 State offers foreign language courses in French, German, Italian, Portuguese
and Spanish, as well as American Sign Language. Students may complete eight college
credits in the same language in order to meet the core requirements of the associate
of arts (AA) degree, or complete up to 16 credit hours as part of an AA degree - foreign
language focus. Students enrolled in 腦瞳憫 States Bachelor of Applied Science in
Supervision and Management program also may take up to 18 credit hours of foreign
language courses to satisfy the occupational/technical component of the degree requirement.
Courses are available in class or online.
