
Dental Assisting, Certificate (Limited Access Program)

Step into a rewarding career as a Dental Assistant, a profession that combines clinical

practices. As a crucial dental clinician, youll perform a variety of essential clinical
procedures, from taking and analyzing dental images to managing patient records and
assisting with medical emergencies as well as supporting dental team members.

with several dental practices during your formal dental assisting education. Youll
gain practical experience in:

- Supply and equipment management
- Infection control practices and protocols
Our program is designed to seamlessly transition your skills into the workplace, ensuring
youre performance-ready from day one. With our comprehensive curriculum and hands-on
training, youll be well-prepared to make a significant impact in the dental field.
Our Dental Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
(CODA) which gives you confidence that our program is providing you with a high-quality
education meeting CODA standards.
Professional credentials
Upon completing the program, you will earn the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
(EFDA) credential required by the state of Florida. Additionally, you will be prepared
to take the Dental Assisting National Board examination to obtain the prestigious
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential.
Application details
We admit 24 students each year, and applications are accepted all year. To ensure
your spot, submit your application as soon as you meet the requirements, including
completing eight observation hours with a dental assistant.
